Zuhairah McGills Directs "All Over" by Jamie Brunson at the National Black Theatre Festival

The National Black Theatre Festival selected Jamie Brunson's play, "All Over" as part of its 2009 featured Readings Series and Jamie Brunson selected Zuhairah McGill to be the director.

Though Zuhairah is a 30 year veteran actor who has studied under Ossie Davis, Uta Hagan, and H. German Wilson, has appeared in several Off-Broadway shows, toured nationally with such critically acclaimed plays as "For Colored Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Not Enough," "Our Young Black Men Are Dying And Nobody Seems To Care," "Eubie," and "Sojourner," though Zuhairah is the Producing Artistic Director of her own theatre company (First World Theatre), and she's also the director-in-residence at America's oldest musical theater (Prince Music Theater), it's not her experience that got her chosen for the job. "She was the only director I worked with that understood my piece," states Jamie Brunson. First World Theatre showcased "All Over" in its 2007 Monday Night Reading Series to great audience awe and reviews. It was during this process that Jamie came to realize Zuhairah's great perception and respect for the writer and her ability to bring that vision alive on stage.

So now, this flavoral match, Jamie Brunson and Zuhairah McGill, are on their way to take the 2009 National Black Theatre Festival by storm. Warning: Great moving, funny, heartfelt, drama that makes you ask the question, "Is it really All Over?" ahead.
