Bruce George to attend Los Angeles Black Book Expo 2008

LOS ANGELES, CA - Bruce George, co-founder of Def Poetry Jam and author of “The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology by Gang Members and Their Affiliates”, will make his appearance on the West coast for the Los Angeles Black Book Expo (LABBX), Saturday, June 14, 2008. Mr. George will not only participate as an author, but as a panelist for the LABBX’s Cultural discussion.

“We are very excited having Mr. George as one of our honored guests for the black book expo.” Charles Chatmon, the executive director of the venue said. “I’m pleased that between his people and our staff we were able to get it done and to get him on board with other authors coming in around the country to join us. With his presence, Mr. George insures the L.A. Black Book Expo will have an outstanding year in 2008.”

Bruce will join over forty authors and exhibitors participating in the L.A. Black Book Expo such as:
Alretha Thomas, Dr. William D. Wright, Frederick Williams and Patryce “Choc’Let’ Banks, Wendy Alane Wright), Maxine Thompson, Northern California spoken word artists Terry a O’Neal and Terry Moore, Master Griot duo Quiet Rage, Sardonyx Jade and the hosts of the venue, the Poets Jazz House.
